So you’ve got through the lockdowns and made a strategy that enables your staff to work from home. However, have you considered your phone system? Working from home is becoming the norm and relying on mobiles will not work well for long. Especially if your staff need to transfer calls. That’s why having a great phone system that is flexible, yet still offers great functionality, is vital.

Collaboration brings calls, chat and video all in one browser. Offering a headset to staff means they are free to type up notes whilst on a call and allows them to fell more comfortable through their working day. Also, if they ever need to go back to the office, they can just take their headset. So there’s no need for transporting a handset or ruining their mobile battery life!

Transfer Calls

Some may feel that a phone system accessed online may be complex and performing tasks such as transferring may be difficult. However it’s a very easy process that we’ll look at below. Scroll down for the video.

Transfer Method 1

> Press the pause button to put the call on hold
> Click and drag the active call onto a colleague
> Pick which number to ring i.e. their extension or a mobile
> Press the handset icon to speak to them first or the arrow to transfer immediately next to the number you want to ring

Transfer Method 2

> Press the pause button to put the call on hold
> Press the arrow button on the active call
> In the pop up dialogue, start typing the number, extension or name of the person you want to transfer to
> Press the handset icon to speak to them first, or the arrow to transfer immediately next to the number you want to ring

Merge Calls

If you need to add someone to your conversation, it’s achieved with just a few clicks. Simply put a call on hold, dial the other party then expand the call options and click ‘conference’. The calls are instantly merged into a group call.

Call Pickup

Call pickup is a great tool that helps keep clients happy and helps your company avoid missing important calls. For example, your colleague’s phone is ringing but they’re away from their desk.
